Kit is an Associate at Keidan Harrison LLP, having joined the firm in July 2020, shortly after its start-up. Kit trained at international law firm DLA Piper, where he qualified as a solicitor in 2015. Prior to joining Keidan Harrison LLP he was an associate in the Dispute Resolution Team at the London-based specialist international law firm, Memery Crystal.
Kit’s experience includes a strong focus on substantial and complex banking and financial services litigation, acting for clients including brokerage houses, lending institutions, funds and high net worth individuals. Recent work has included claims under the Quincecare duty of care and multi-party litigation arising out of the trading of fraudulent warehouse receipts. Kit’s experience has encompassed matters before the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, as well as international arbitration.
In addition to acting on disputes in the financial services sector, Kit’s expertise encompasses disputes concerning insolvency, fraud and corporate shareholders. Recently, Kit acted in the Supreme Court case of Marex Financial –v- Carlos Sevilleja Garcia concerning the scope of the rule against reflective loss and whether this should continue to be applied to creditors, as well as to shareholders. Further experience in shareholder actions has included multiple derivative claims against companies and their directors, as well as unfair prejudice petitions under the Companies Act 2006.
Kit has also undertaken alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, expert determination and without prejudice negotiations.
